Our Story
How Alta Began
Alta Real Estate was founded by Brennen Jones and Jake Murray — two seasoned real estate professionals who spent their careers at some of the largest multifamily operators in the country. Between them, they've overseen operations on over 23,000 units and managed billions in real estate assets.
After years of watching individual investors struggle to access institutional-quality deals, they launched Alta with a clear mission: bring the same caliber of deals, diligence, and operations to accredited investors who want real estate exposure without the headaches of direct ownership.
Today, Alta manages over $240M in assets across Texas and the Mountain West, with a portfolio of 1,096 units. Every deal is sourced through proprietary channels, underwritten conservatively, and managed hands-on by our team. We invest our own capital alongside every investor — because alignment isn't a talking point, it's how we operate.

Meet the Team
Brennen Jones
Partner | Co-Founder
Brennen oversees Property Operations and serves on the Investment Committee at Alta. Prior to Alta, Brennen was the VP for a startup company focused on Phoenix multifamily, Senior Director of Asset Management for the Irvine Company, and in Asset Management at JRK Property Holdings. Throughout his career, he has overseen operations and improvements on over 23,000 units and has worked on the acquisitions of several thousand units.
Fluent in Spanish. BS in Finance from Brigham Young University, MBA from the University of Southern California.
Jake Murray
Partner | Co-Founder
Jake oversees Acquisitions and serves on the Investment Committee at Alta. Prior to Alta, Jake was the VP of Acquisitions at Peak Capital Partners and an AVP at Zions Bank’s National Real Estate Group. Throughout his career Jake has worked on purchasing several thousand units, real estate fund creation, and partnership structuring. During the GFC, Jake spent several years working out hundreds of commercial real estate loans across the country.
Fluent in Portuguese, conversational in Spanish. BA in Political Science from the University of Utah, MBA from Brigham Young University.
